Según BGR, varios fabricantes de tabletas Android lanzaron modelos con pantallas OLED, procesadores de alto rendimiento y sistemas de refrigeración orientados a juegos en Estados Unidos, posicionándolos como alternativas de precio comparable al nuevo iPad mini OLED de Apple. Apple presentó el iPad mini OLED con el procesador de 2 nm A20 Pro, resistencia al agua y al polvo IP67 y un precio inicial cercano a los 699 dólares, informó Ars Technica. The Straits Times señaló que la compañía abrió las reservas y comenzó a vender el dispositivo poco después del anuncio.

9to5Mac había indicado previamente que Apple planeaba el dispositivo con esas especificaciones. Engadget añadió que el iPad mini se presentó junto con un iMac M6 y una MacBook Pro de 14 pulgadas renovada, mientras que The National informó sobre la presentación y la vinculó a especulaciones sobre una futura MacBook con pantalla táctil.
