Apple launches refreshed 14-inch MacBook Pro and new M6 iMac
Apple unveiled an updated 14-inch MacBook Pro and a new iMac powered by its latest M6 processor at a launch event in Cupertino, California. The MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 and features faster graphics and on-device AI performance, according to PCMag Australia. The iMac, announced in the same event, doubles graphics performance and offers significantly faster AI tasks compared with previous models, Engadget reported.
Reports from 9to5Mac and MacRumors earlier in the month said Apple was preparing its first touchscreen MacBook Pro with an OLED display, Dynamic Island and M5 Pro/Max chips, and some rumors mentioned possible 5G cellular support. Those reports described a redesign with a lighter chassis and a notch-free screen, but the company ultimately launched the M6-based models instead.
