London High Court Rejects Celebrity's Injunction to Block Media Reports
A London High Court judge dismissed a former celebrity's request for an injunction to prevent The Guardian and ITN from publishing his name and allegations of sexual misconduct on 4 November. The bid had been lodged after the celebrity's lawyers argued that revealing his identity could pose a suicide risk, a claim reported by Page Six. Earlier, on 27 October, the same court warned that publishing the identity would breach reporting restrictions and could lead to contempt proceedings, according to TMZ.
A temporary order at that time barred naming the claimant while the appeal was considered, as noted by Deadline. The judge later set a deadline for the celebrity, identified only as PPT, to decide whether to appeal the lifting of the injunction, reported by The Telegraph.
