UK High Court Sets Appeal Deadline for Anonymous Celebrity
A UK High Court judge in London set a deadline for the unnamed celebrity, known only as PPT, to decide whether to appeal the lifting of a temporary injunction that had kept his identity hidden, on 3 November. Earlier, the public figure had asked a London court to prevent media outlets from revealing his name while sexual misconduct allegations were examined, according to TMZ. His lawyers argued that publishing the identity posed a suicide risk, as reported by Page Six.
Judge Matthew Nicklin warned that breaching the reporting restriction could result in contempt proceedings, writes TMZ. The judge later rejected the request for a permanent injunction, allowing The Guardian and ITN to publish the allegations while maintaining a temporary order pending appeal.
