Teen son of reality TV star and former NFL player arrested on sexual assault charges

Summary

Fifteen-year-old KJ Biermann, son of Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, was taken into custody on aggravated sodomy and sexual battery charges after a classmate accused him of assault at a Georgia fitness center.

Fifteen-year-old KJ Biermann, the son of former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak and retired NFL player Kroy Biermann, was arrested on Monday on charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery. He is being held without bond, and a court hearing is set for Sept. 1.

According to Fulton County juvenile court documents, a female classmate alleged that Biermann forced himself on her in a co-ed sauna at the Life Time fitness center in Alpharetta on April 23, despite her protests. The complaint states he attempted to pull down her pants, forced oral sex, and digitally penetrated her vagina before leaving the scene.

The alleged victim, who was also 15, did not report the incident until the following day when she encountered Biermann’s girlfriend at school. She later sought medical attention at North Fulton Hospital; a subsequent examination found no male DNA evidence.

Police began investigating the case and first attempted to contact Biermann on May 14, speaking with him four days later. The former NFL player indicated he would discuss with his wife whether authorities could interview their son.

Representatives for Biermann and Zolciak have not responded to requests for comment. The couple, who are in the midst of a divorce, share custody of KJ and his siblings. Zolciak had posted a celebratory Instagram message about her son earlier in May, praising his work ethic and dedication.
