Former NFL player ordered to pay $64,000 gambling debt as son receives $200,000 bond

Summary

Kroy Biermann was ordered to repay a $64,000 gambling debt linked to a 2021 Bahamas trip, while his 15-year-old son KJ was granted a $200,000 bond in a sexual assault case.

A Georgia court ordered former NFL defensive end Kroy Biermann to pay $64,000 in a gambling debt arising from a November 2021 trip to the Bahamas. The judgment awarded Sky Warrior, which manages credit lines at Baha Mar Casino, $52,500 plus prejudgment interest and $11,927.35 in attorneys’ fees and costs. Biermann, 41, was served with the post-judgment order at his home on Aug. 28.

The debt hearing coincided with a separate case involving Biermann’s 15-year-old son, KJ, who was arrested in April on charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery after a classmate alleged assault at a fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia. Prosecutors also presented evidence they say shows KJ engaged in sexual activity with an underage relative. During a hearing on Sept. 11, Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy described the alleged conduct, and Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge set KJ’s bond at $200,000.

KJ’s attorney, Jason Sheffield, contended that the court’s characterizations misrepresent the facts, describing the prior incident as “inappropriate, crude behavior involving two middle-schoolers” that did not result in a statutory rape adjudication. The bond conditions require KJ to remain at his mother’s residence, attend school virtually, avoid social media and cellphone use, wear an electronic monitor, and have no contact with the alleged victim, her family, or anyone under 16.

Biermann and reality-television personality Kim Zolciak share six children, including two adopted daughters and four younger children.
