Nintendo releases Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake led by young developers
Producers Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi said that younger staff, many of whom had never played the original, led the development of Nintendo's Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The team aimed to preserve the core experience while updating graphics and controls. Nintendo launched the fully rebuilt version on November 5, featuring updated graphics, controls and sound while retaining the classic storyline, CBC reported. The game received a 37-out-of-40 score from Famitsu, which praised its camera, controls and visuals, according to Video Games Chronicle.
Customers could preorder the physical Switch 2 edition at a $10 discount until the release date, The Verge noted. Nintendo expected the title to boost Switch 2 sales during the holiday season, CNN said. The worldwide release was announced for as part of the series' 40th anniversary, Yahoo News Singapore reported.
