Nintendo launches Ocarina of Time remake amid steep Switch 2 sales decline
Nintendo reported a 41% year-over-year decline in Switch 2 sales for the fiscal quarter ending September 30, according to CNBC. The decline came shortly after the company launched a fully rebuilt version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 on November 5, CBC reported. Producers Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi said the remake balances the original gameplay with modern updates, The Verge noted. Nintendo had said the title would help drive Switch 2 sales during the holiday season, CNN reported.
Famitsu awarded the game 37 out of 40, praising its camera, controls and graphics, Video Games Chronicle reported. Customers could preorder the physical Switch 2 edition at a $10 discount until the launch date, The Verge reported. The November 5 release date was confirmed by The Straits Times.
