Famitsu Gives Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Remake a 37/40 Score
Famitsu's four-critic review awarded the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 37 out of 40, praising its camera, controls and graphics while noting some simplicity.
Japan's gaming magazine Famitsu published its first review of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2, assigning the title a total score of 37 out of 40. The magazine’s four reviewers gave individual marks of 10, 9, 9 and 9.
The review highlighted the remake’s modern twin-stick camera system, which offers greater freedom of movement, as well as more user-friendly controls, smoother game progression and a high level of graphical detail. > "The new camera settings are comfortable, and the twin-stick controls allow more freedom to move the camera around," the review noted.
Critics said the game fell short of a perfect rating because some aspects felt simplistic compared to contemporary titles and occasional moments could confuse players. The original Nintendo 64 version had previously earned Famitsu’s perfect 40 score, though the context of its impact differed.
The remake launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, November 5.
