SpaceX Restores Full Starlink and Starshield Service in Ukraine After Week-Long Throttling
Ukrainian officials said SpaceX restored full-speed access to its Starlink broadband and the military-grade Starshield satellite network after a week-long slowdown that had hampered drone control and frontline communications. Earlier Ukrainian advisers reported overnight speed caps that disrupted drone missions and logistics. Elon Musk later said the limits were imposed by the U. S. government, and President Donald Trump denied ordering any restrictions.
U. S. senators asked the defence department inspector general to investigate the caps, while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that the restrictions were still affecting Ukraine’s interceptor drones. By the end of the week, SpaceX lifted the caps, allowing the satellite links to operate at full capacity.
