Singapore's air quality improves as PSI falls to moderate levels
Singapore’s National Environment Agency said on October 26, 2026 that the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index had fallen to the good-moderate range in the south and north of the city-state, while other regions remained in the unhealthy band but were trending downward. Earlier, on October 25, 2026, the agency reported that the PSI had dropped out of the unhealthy range in the south and north and that hourly PM2. 5 concentrations stayed within normal limits across all areas.
Separate tests also found that indoor PM2. 5 levels can exceed outdoor concentrations, with air purifiers reducing pollutants more effectively than air-conditioners and some expired N95 masks still meeting filtration standards.
