Singapore advises indoor protection as haze eases and PSI improves
On 28 October the National Environment Agency (NEA) advised Singapore residents to stay indoors and use a combination of ventilation, cooling and filtration to protect health during the haze, CNA reported. Earlier, on 25 October, CNA noted that the 24-hour PSI dropped to moderate levels in the south and north, exiting the unhealthy range, while other regions remained unhealthy but showed a downward trend.
Tests in Singapore homes showed indoor PM2. 5 concentrations sometimes exceeded outdoor levels, and that air purifiers reduced particles more effectively than air-conditioners; some expired N95 masks still met filtration standards.
