Israeli soldiers kill two attackers, impose West Bank lockdown
NPR reported that on 23 October Israeli soldiers shot dead two men they said were attacking near Hebron, injured five others, and ordered a full closure of the West Bank ahead of national elections. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier ordered a closure of Hebron and a travel ban across the West Bank after a Hamas-linked shooting wounded five people, according to the Jerusalem Post. NBC later reported that the lockdown followed a military operation that killed the two Palestinians accused of the shooting, days before the elections.
