Presley Gerber, 27, Dies at Rehabilitation Facility
Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died at age 27 while at a rehabilitation center, with the cause of death pending an autopsy.
Presley Gerber, 27, died on September 20 while staying at a rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. A family representative confirmed the death to media outlets and asked for privacy during the period.
The coroner has not yet released a cause of death, as an autopsy is still underway.
Gerber had previously faced legal issues related to alcohol and had spoken publicly about prescribed medication and mental-health challenges. His sister Kaia Gerber discussed the family's struggles in a recent interview, noting the impact of long-standing substance-use issues on their lives.
"When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone. I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing," she said.
"My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything—and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them."
The family has not released further details, and friends have expressed condolences.
