Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber arrange private memorial for son Presley Gerber

Summary

The parents of the late Presley Gerber are planning an intimate memorial in Malibu, aiming to keep the service private while coping with his recent overdose death.

Cindy Crawford, 60, and Rande Gerber, 64, are organizing a private memorial for their son Presley Gerber, who died at age 27 following an apparent overdose at a Santa Monica rehabilitation facility on Sept. 20. An insider told People that the couple wants the gathering to remain intimate and free of media presence, and they are considering Malibu as the location because of Presley's affinity for surfing and the beach. Presley was cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home, and his ashes will remain at his parents' Malibu residence.

According to sources, Crawford and Gerger were actively involved in Presley's life and his recovery efforts, with the model checking into rehab the weekend of his death. The family has emphasized that they have always been present for him and that they are now focusing on arranging the memorial while coping with the loss.

"It’s hard to make those decisions when everyone is struggling emotionally," an insider said.

"Their priority is to keep it private, without media or paparazzi there," the source added.

Presley's sister, 25-year-old model Kaia Gerber, is reported to be deeply affected by her brother's death. The family has not released further details about the memorial schedule.
