FDA expands Class II recall of blood-pressure tablets to two more lots
On November 3, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration classified a recall of two lots of Olmesartan Medoxomil, Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets as Class II after dissolution failures were identified, WSB-TV reported.
The recall covers the same generic blood-pressure medication previously withdrawn. The agency had earlier, on October 26, issued a Class II recall of more than 3,700 bottles of the same three-component tablets after quality testing showed they did not dissolve properly, according to USA Today and WMUR. A separate voluntary Class III recall of over 21,000 bottles of telmisartan-amlodipine tablets was announced because of potency concerns, Yahoo reported.
