FDA expands recall of blood pressure tablets over dissolution failures
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration recalled more than 3,700 bottles of Olmesartan Medoxomil, Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets in the United States on November 3 after quality testing showed the tablets failed to dissolve properly.
The recall follows an earlier action on October 26, when the agency announced a voluntary Class III recall of more than 21,000 bottles of telmisartan and amlodipine tablets because of potency concerns. The agency later classified the November 3 recall as a Class II recall, citing the failed dissolution specifications.
