Authorities said the manhunt for Jacob Morley continued after his stolen Ford F-350 work truck was found in Marion, Illinois on 29 October. Morley, 28, had escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee on 25 October, slipping through a perimeter fence and taking the truck.

He was serving a life sentence for a 2022 murder, and the escape prompted a statewide search and a reward for information. Officials faced criticism for delaying notification of his disappearance for more than five hours.
