Police Find Stolen Truck of Escaped Tennessee Inmate in Illinois
Police in Marion, Illinois, on 29 October found the 2008 Ford F-350 that escaped inmate Jacob Morley had stolen, and officials said they are probing a possible connection to a bank robbery in Deerfield, Wisconsin, as the multistate manhunt continues. Morley, a 28-year-old serving a life sentence for a 2022 murder, fled the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, on 25 October, slipping through a perimeter fence and taking the work truck.
Tennessee officials launched a statewide search and placed him on the most-wanted list. Subsequent reports noted that law-enforcement agencies were not alerted to his disappearance for more than five hours, drawing criticism, and that investigators are also examining whether he was involved in the Deerfield robbery.
