Houthis' missile campaign escalates, culminating in Aden airport strike
The Houthi movement struck Aden airport on 22 October, injuring civilians and prompting the suspension of all flights, Reuters reported. The attack came after the group warned residents to evacuate the facility. The airport strike follows a week of intensified hostilities.
The Saudi-led coalition said it destroyed a ballistic missile, a drone and a cruise missile aimed at Riyadh and Khamis Mushait and later intercepted ten missiles bound for southern Saudi Arabia. Saudi authorities also intercepted a ballistic missile targeting King Khalid International Airport. Meanwhile, the Houthis claimed to have hit the Ras Tanura oil refinery and Saudi defence ministry with ballistic missiles, though Saudi officials reported only interceptions and a contained fire.
