Houthi claims missile strike on Saudi defence ministry and Ras Tanura refinery
The Houthi movement said on 27 October that it launched ballistic missiles that struck Saudi Arabia's defence ministry in Riyadh and the Ras Tanura oil refinery, while Saudi officials reported intercepting the missiles and containing a fire that broke out. The attacks followed earlier incidents in which the Saudi-led coalition said it destroyed a ballistic missile, a drone and a cruise missile aimed at Riyadh and Khamis Mushait and later intercepted ten missiles heading south.
Saudi authorities also reported intercepting a ballistic missile targeting King Khalid International Airport. The Houthis had previously claimed to have hit the Ras Tanura refinery and other military sites, though Saudi officials had not confirmed those strikes.
