U.S. Attorney's Office cites filing error, superseding complaint dismissed
The U. S. Attorney’s Office in Washington said it had made a procedural filing error, and a Washington magistrate judge dismissed the superseding criminal complaint that added obstruction charges against former FBI agents Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides on October 29.
The superseding complaint stemmed from the Justice Department’s indictment of the two former FBI counterintelligence officials for allegedly lying to Congress about the bureau’s 2020-2021 investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop, charges first filed on October 23. Floris and Benavides had previously surrendered after the initial false-statement charges were announced.
