DHS Secretary says Ilhan Omar fraud probe involves multiple people
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the federal fraud investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar involves several individuals and is being led by the Department of Justice, according to statements made in Washington. President Donald Trump had earlier urged Omar to resign as the Justice Department reopened a probe into her and her father's immigration records after a 2024 raid on her Washington, D. C. , residence.
The investigation also examines a deleted 2013 social-media post that referenced her father and court filings that listed her under the name “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi,” intensifying scrutiny of her immigration history. Following the raid, Omar announced she would relocate from her D. C. home.
