Priest Killed When Crucifix Falls During Livestreamed Mass in Guayaquil
The Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed on 20 October that Rev. Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari was killed when a wooden crucifix fell from the wall during a livestreamed Mass at the Perpetuo Socorro Church in Guayaquil on 17 October.
The heavy cross detached from its mount and struck the priest on the head, causing his death at the scene. The incident was broadcast online, prompting local authorities to open an investigation into the cause of the collapse.
