Priest Killed as Crucifix Falls During Livestreamed Mass in Guayaquil
Rev. Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari was killed when a heavy wooden crucifix collapsed onto him during a livestreamed Catholic Mass at the Perpetuo Socorro church in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the Archdiocese of Guayaquil confirmed on 19 October. Earlier reports on 17 October described the incident, noting that the wall-mounted crucifix fell during the service and that the priest had been struck on the head, leading to his death.
