NFLPA demands investigation of Jalen Hurts' medical care
The NFL Players Association said it had not seen any league investigation into quarterback Jalen Hurts' treatment and urged a full review, after the Philadelphia Eagles placed the player on injured reserve because of a blood clot. Philadelphia announced on 16 October that Hurts had been diagnosed with deep-vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli, ending his season and requiring anticoagulation therapy. Earlier in the week, doctors identified a superficial clot in his calf, causing him to miss the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers; the league confirmed it had spoken with the Eagles about the condition before the team’s London trip.
