Judge reverses order in Trump East Potomac golf redevelopment dispute
On October 20, Fox News reported that U. S. District Judge Ana Reyes withdrew her earlier order requiring Department of Justice attorneys to sign a filing in the lawsuit over President Donald Trump’s plan to redevelop the East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D. C.
, ending a nearly seven-hour hearing. Earlier in October, President Trump announced on October 8 that he intended to transform the 106-year-old public course into a championship-level facility, prompting local preservation groups to file suit. Judge Reyes issued a series of emergency orders that halted the removal of more than 500 trees and mandated advance notice before any further work. The Justice Department subsequently moved to have the judge recuse herself, alleging bias, but the case remained under her jurisdiction as the legal battle continued.
