Federal judge blocks Trump administration changes to museums and parks

U. S. District Judge Angel Kelley in Massachusetts issued a preliminary injunction ordering the Interior Department to reinstall interpretive signs on topics such as slavery and climate change that had been removed from national park sites. The injunction required the agency to restore those signs, as reported by NBC News, and later added LGBTQ+ history signage ahead of the July 4 holiday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The same court order was subsequently reported to cover national museums, historic landmarks and to bar any further alterations until the case is resolved, per the Associated Press. The National Parks Conservation Association and the American Association for State and Local History were among the plaintiffs that challenged the revisions. As a result, the Interior Department must pause ongoing changes and begin reinstating the removed exhibits.
