Search Ongoing for Two Missing U.S. Soldiers in Morocco
Two U. S. Army soldiers went missing near Tan Tan, Morocco, during the African Lion 2026 military exercise. Initially, the soldiers were reported missing after a recreational hike near the Cap Draa Training Area, prompting a multinational search and rescue operation involving U.
S. and Moroccan forces. Later reports indicated the soldiers went missing after attempting a rescue off Morocco's southern coast during the exercise. Search efforts have continued without confirmed recovery, and the operation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the missing personnel.
