FX Orders Limited Series 'Legends' Reuniting 'Sons of Anarchy' Cast
FX has greenlit the limited series 'Legends,' a meta-thriller that brings together the original 'Sons of Anarchy' cast playing themselves at a fan convention, with Charlie Hunnam serving as star, developer and executive producer.
FX announced a new limited series titled "Legends," developed by Charlie Hunnam and Jonathan Groff. The show will feature Hunnam alongside former "Sons of Anarchy" cast members Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi, who will appear as themselves at a fictional fan convention. The premise follows the reunited actors as the line between their on-screen personas and real life blurs, confronting a threat that exceeds anything encountered in the original series.
"When Charlie brought us this inspired idea, we instantly sparked to his bold and entertaining vision," said Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment. The series is being produced by FX Productions and 20th Television and will stream on FX and Hulu.
The project, in development for at least three years, follows Hunnam’s recent Emmy-nominated performance in the Netflix limited series "Monster: The Ed Gein Story." While Kurt Sutter, creator of the original biker drama, is not credited on the new series, the original cast’s continued collaboration at fan events over the past decade is highlighted as a foundation for the show.
