FX and Hulu announce limited series "Legends" reuniting Sons of Anarchy cast

Summary

FX and Hulu plan a limited series titled "Legends" that will bring together original Sons of Anarchy actors in a meta-thriller set at a fan convention, with a premiere date pending.

FX and Hulu have ordered a limited series called "Legends" that will reunite several original members of the "Sons of Anarchy" cast, including Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman. The project is being created and written by Hunnam, who is also starring as a version of himself, alongside Jonathan Groff. Executive producers include Hunnam, Groff, Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel and Jackie Chon, with production handled by FX Productions and 20th Television.

The series is described as a meta-thriller in which the former cast members gather at a fan convention more than a decade after the original show ended, and the distinction between their real lives and the fictional world of the biker drama becomes increasingly blurred. Additional cast members have not yet been announced.

FX Entertainment president Nick Grad said, "When Charlie brought us this inspired idea, we instantly sparked to his bold and entertaining vision. Charlie’s talents are on full display as a writer, performer and executive producer, leading the real-life brotherhood on an adventure that is both a love letter to the series and a fun meta twist on what fans think they know."

Production has not yet begun, and no premiere date has been set. "Sons of Anarchy" aired for seven seasons on FX from 2008 to 2014, earning five Emmy nominations and spawning the spin-off "Mayans M.C." which ran from 2018 to 2023.
