Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream recalls select Outshine fruit bars over possible glass contamination
Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling several flavors of Outshine frozen fruit bars due to potential glass fragments, with no reported injuries.
Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream announced a voluntary recall of multiple flavors of its Outshine frozen fruit bars after discovering that some batches may contain glass fragments. The recall covers select batches with best-before dates from June 2027 through November 2027 and includes Black Cherry, Grape, Strawberry, Tangerine and Watermelon varieties. The products were distributed nationwide.
Consumers are advised to check the batch code or UPC on the bottom of the packaging to determine if their bars are affected. Those who have purchased the recalled items should discard them or return them to the retailer for a full refund.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported. The company emphasized that product safety, quality and integrity remain its top priority. > "The safety, quality, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority," the company said in its news release. > "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause our consumers and retail customers."
Health officials warned that swallowing glass can cause a range of symptoms, from none at all for very small fragments to chest or abdominal pain, blood in stool, fever or internal injury for larger pieces. Anyone who believes they have ingested glass should seek medical attention immediately.
