Dreyer's recalls select Outshine fruit bar batches over glass contamination risk

Summary

Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling specific Outshine fruit bar packages after reports of glass fragments, urging consumers to verify UPC and batch codes.

Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream announced a voluntary recall of certain Outshine fruit bar varieties sold in six-count packages and 24-count variety packs after consumers reported finding glass in the products. The recall, filed with the Food and Drug Administration on August 18, covers specific batches of strawberry, watermelon, grape, tangerine, black cherry, and the 24-count variety pack. No injuries or illnesses have been reported, the company said.

"Dreyer’s is taking this action out of an abundance of caution following consumer reports of glass found in the product," a company spokesperson said.

The affected items were distributed nationwide. Consumers are advised to check the UPC, batch code and best-before date on the packaging to determine if their product is part of the recall and to discard or return any affected items for a full refund. A complete list of the recalled batch codes and dates is available on the FDA website.
