Darrell Sheets, 'Storage Wars' Star, Dies at 67 in Apparent Suicide

Darrell Sheets, a prominent figure on the reality television series "Storage Wars," was found dead at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, early Wednesday morning. He was 67.

According to the Lake Havasu City Police Department, officers responded to a call around 2 a.m. and discovered Sheets with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation, with the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office conducting further inquiries.

Sheets, affectionately known as "The Gambler" for his bold bidding style, appeared in 163 episodes of "Storage Wars" from its debut in 2010 until his retirement in 2023. The show follows bidders competing for abandoned storage units, often uncovering valuable items. Sheets was renowned for his adventurous approach, once claiming to have found four Picasso paintings and a lucrative comic book collection through storage auctions.

After retiring from the show, Sheets relocated to Lake Havasu City, where he operated an antique shop named "Havasu Show Me Your Junk." In 2019, he faced significant health challenges, including a heart attack that required surgery.

A&E, the network behind "Storage Wars," expressed their condolences: "We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell 'The Gambler' Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."

Sheets is survived by his son, Brandon Sheets, who also appeared on "Storage Wars," and his daughter, Tiffany Sheets.
