Storage Wars Star Darrell Sheets Dies at 67

Darrell Sheets, a prominent figure on the reality television series "Storage Wars," has died at the age of 67. Authorities in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, responded to a call at his residence around 2 a.m. on April 22, 2026, where they found Sheets with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Known as "The Gambler" for his high-risk bidding strategy, Sheets was a central cast member on "Storage Wars" for 15 seasons. After retiring from the show in 2023, he relocated to Lake Havasu City, where he operated an antique shop named Havasu Show Me Your Junk.

Fellow cast members have expressed their grief. Dave Hester, a longtime co-star, reflected on their relationship, stating, "We were rivals, but we respected each other." Brandi Passante shared her sorrow and related the tragedy to her own personal experience with suicide in her family. She emphasized the importance of seeking help and spreading awareness about mental health, offering support to Sheets’ loved ones.

In 2019, Sheets suffered a heart attack, leading him to step back from the show. He later returned for a few episodes before his retirement.

Authorities are investigating allegations that Sheets had been a victim of cyberbullying prior to his death. Fellow cast member Rene Nezhoda revealed on social media that Sheets had reportedly been enduring cyberbullying, urging people not to judge or attack public figures online.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit and the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sheets' death.
