Jimmy Kimmel urges President Trump’s resignation on late-night show
Jimmy Kimmel urged President Donald Trump to resign during his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live on 5 November, prompting a sharp rebuke from the White House, Deadline reported. Earlier on 1 November, Kimmel mocked Trump after early returns showed Democrats winning control of both the House and Senate, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter. The Daily Beast highlighted a sketch featuring a Natalie Harp look-alike and called Trump a lame-duck.
USA Today said Kimmel pointed to the upcoming change in House leadership. Mashable reported that Kimmel criticized Trump for blaming others after the Democratic surge, and Variety added that the host denounced the president in his monologue.
