Nintendo sets November release for Zelda remake amid Walmart restock delays
Nintendo announced that the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released in November 2025, with midnight launch events scheduled in London and Toronto and a line of anniversary merchandise. According to The Shortcut, the Nintendo Store recorded the most frequent restocks of the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2, while Walmart’s planned restock was pushed back to November 6. Polygon reported that major retailers Walmart and Target are facing supply-chain and inventory problems that are delaying or preventing delivery of the special-edition Switch 2.
The Shortcut also noted that Walmart and Target will begin taking online orders for the special edition on November 6 after a supply-chain delay postponed the original October 29 launch. GoNintendo said Walmart cancelled pre-orders for the limited-edition Switch 2 on the eve of its release, citing oversold inventory.
