Florida State coach vacancy remains attractive after Norvell’s dismissal
A 247Sports survey of recruiting reporters and college-football personnel found that the vacancy for Florida State’s head football coach remains attractive despite recent conference realignments and growing TV revenue. Florida State University dismissed Mike Norvell as head coach, ending his nearly four-year tenure after a 63-3 Orange Bowl loss and a three-season record of 10-23, according to WCTV.
The university paid a $50 million buyout, CBS Sports reported, and then began a search for a new head coach, also noted by CBS Sports. More than a dozen Florida high-school coaches offered candidate suggestions, according to 247Sports.
