Bears acquire All-Pro DT Jeffery Simmons in trade with Titans
Titans head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that Tennessee traded defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears for the Bears' next two first-round draft selections, saying the move was unavoidable given the team's 1-6 record. The deal, announced earlier in the week, also sent Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick to Chicago in exchange for the Titans' 2027 and 2028 first-round picks and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Chicago gave up two first-round selections and a fourth-rounder to acquire the All-Pro defender. Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said the trade fit the team's long-term rebuilding plan, while league executives noted the high cost of the player.
