Suspect Shot During Arrest After Chainsaw Attack on Schoolgirls
A man accused of attacking two schoolgirls with a chainsaw in Andhra Pradesh was shot by police while resisting arrest in a forest area on November 1. The suspect, identified as a relative of one of the victims, fled the school after the attack but was apprehended at Dharmavaram railway station. Authorities provided emergency care to the injured girls, with one in critical condition, and transferred her by air ambulance to a hospital in Bengaluru.
The attack took place on October 31 in a Class 10 classroom at Zilla Parishad High School in Raptadu, Anantapur district. The suspect entered the classroom armed with a power saw and injured two female students. Police launched an investigation into the incident, which reportedly stemmed from the suspect's rejection after previous advances toward one of the victims.
