Metrolinx Sub-contractor Driver Charged in Fatal Toronto Traffic-Agent Crash
A 33-year-old driver employed by a Metrolinx subcontractor was charged with careless driving causing death after his dump truck hit a City of Toronto traffic agent at the Millwood Road and Overlea Boulevard intersection in Thorncliffe Park on 29 October. The 42-year-old agent was directing traffic when the truck struck him, resulting in his death, according to CBC.
Mayor Olivia Chow said the loss was tragic and the city would review safety measures, as reported by CP24. The collision led officials to close the intersection.
