Pentagon dismisses top J-5 planner amid Iran strike speculation
According to PBS, the Pentagon removed Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, the Joint Chiefs' J-5 director, from his post, a move that coincided with President Trump's comments on possible additional military action against Iran.
Earlier reports said the dismissal was linked to a Department of Defense investigation that tied Sylvia to unauthorized disclosures about Iran and the Ukraine conflict (Al Jazeera). CNN also noted that the decision came as the Trump administration was considering new strikes on Iran.
