Silicon Practice administration knocks out GP surgery websites across England and Wales
According to The Times, the collapse of tech firm Silicon Practice, which provides digital services to NHS GP surgeries, has taken offline the online portals of hundreds of practices across England and Wales, leaving patients unable to book appointments or view test results. Earlier reports said that the provider had entered administration, causing the websites of several Norfolk surgeries such as West Pottergate Medical Practice, Parish Field Practice and Watton Medical Practice to become inaccessible, and prompting patients to contact the surgeries by phone or in person. ITVX and the Norwich Evening News noted that the outage affected hundreds of GP practice websites in England and Wales, forcing patients to seek alternative contact methods.
