Weil Gotshal & Manges advises partners to vote on wind-down
Weil, Gotshal & Manges said its management committee has advised partners to vote on an orderly wind-down of the firm after merger talks with Willkie Farr & Gallagher collapsed. The firm had earlier hired restructuring and merger specialists from Davis Polk following a wave of partner departures, and a senior partner told junior lawyers to look for new employment as the firm evaluated its future. Earlier reports indicated the firm was planning an orderly wind-down and a partner vote was expected soon.
