Microsoft rolls out voluntary exit program for 60,000 staff
Microsoft launched a voluntary exit program for roughly 60,000 employees in the United States, Canada, India and the United Kingdom, The Hindu reported on 27 October. The offer, aimed at staff at level 70 and below, provides severance and transition support. The initiative was first disclosed by Business Insider on 26 October, which said the packages mirrored those offered in earlier layoffs. NDTV added that the buyout covered about a quarter of Microsoft’s global workforce as the company shifted spending toward artificial-intelligence projects.
Nine. com. au noted the program affected roughly 27% of the workforce as part of a broader restructuring effort.
