Canada and UAE sign comprehensive economic partnership agreement
According to Reuters, Canada and the United Arab Emirates signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement in Ottawa on 26 October, a deal aimed at cutting tariffs, easing regulations and expanding market access as part of Prime Minister Mark Carney's push to grow non-U. S. trade.
The agreement followed a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney in Ottawa, where he welcomed Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and about 120 leaders from Canada’s business, academic and community sectors, as reported by The Globe and Mail. CBC noted that the meeting was intended to disclose details of a new strategic partnership after a fast-tracked free-trade agreement.
