FTC and 20 states sue Dollar General over alleged price-tag discrepancies
The Federal Trade Commission and 20 state attorneys general filed a lawsuit against Dollar General in Washington, D. C. , on 26 October, accusing the retailer of routinely charging customers more than advertised prices.
The filing follows earlier reports that the agency and the coalition had sued the discount chain for repeatedly overcharging shoppers despite consumer complaints and internal awareness. CNBC first reported the lawsuit, and Reuters noted that the complaint said the company was aware of the pricing discrepancies.
