YouTuber Itsub Denies Apple Compensation as iPhone Duo Screen Defect Confirmed
YouTuber Itsub said he had not been paid by Apple and warned of legal action after critics accused him of rigging an iPhone Duo durability test, while Apple confirmed a limited internal screen defect and began offering replacements at its stores. Apple’s statement said the issue affects a small number of early units and customers should contact AppleCare for a replacement. Earlier reports indicated that owners of the newly released iPhone Duo experienced cracks near the hinge and white pixel lines on the inner display, with many receiving replacements through Apple stores.
A teardown by iFixit suggested that the hinge design creates a pressure hotspot that may cause the cracks. Apple later acknowledged the defect in statements to the media, confirming the problem and advising affected users to seek replacements.
