Apple confirms iPhone Duo screen defect, offers replacements
Apple confirmed a display defect affecting a small number of iPhone Duo foldable phones and instructed owners to contact AppleCare for replacements, the company said, according to The Guardian. Earlier, The Age reported that Apple had acknowledged the same defect and advised customers to seek replacements through AppleCare.
Notebookcheck cited an iFixit teardown that identified the hinge design as creating a pressure hotspot that may cause the early screen cracks. 9to5Mac had earlier documented users experiencing central hinge cracks and white pixel lines on the inner display, noting that many received replacement units at Apple stores.
