Saquon Barkley sits out practice after hamstring flare-up and back injury
The Philadelphia Eagles confirmed on 29 October that running back Saquon Barkley did not take part in the team’s walkthrough, citing a re-aggravated hamstring strain and a fresh back injury that left his status for the upcoming game uncertain, NBC Sports reported. Earlier in the week, Barkley had been listed as active but questionable for the Week 7 Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, and NBC Sports noted he was cleared to play despite lingering concerns.
He participated in the game but left with a back injury, and head coach Nick Sirianni said the staff monitored his condition closely before allowing him to return, NBC Sports added. On 21 October, NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo said Barkley was slated to practice that day, and the Eagles’ injury report earlier listed him among players with limited participation, Bleeding Green Nation reported.
